Men’s & Women’s teams finalized for Season 2 of Uttarakhand Premier League

~ The UPL Player Draft for both the men’s and women’s competitions took place on Saturday in Dehradun with the likes of Akash Madhwal, Yuvraj Chaudhary, Jagadeesha Suchith, Prashant Chopra, Kunal Chandela, Bhupen Lalwani and Avneesh Sudha headlining the tournament as Icon Players in the men’s category ~

Dehradun, 13 September 2025: The Player Draft for the 2025 Men’s Uttarakhand Premier League was successfully conducted on Saturday in Dehradun, where seven participating teams—Dehradun Warriors, Haridwar Spring Elmas, Nainital Tigers, Pithoragarh Hurricanes, Rishikesh Falcons, Tehri Titans, and USN Indians—finalized their squads. Each franchise completed its roster by selecting players across five key categories: Icon Player, Category A, Category B, Category C, and Uncapped Players. With the draft now concluded, the teams are geared up to begin preparations for the Men’s UPL, set to commence on 27th September 2025.

The draft began with the selection of Icon Players, starting with Dehradun Warriors choosing Yuvraj Choudhary as their marquee player. Following them were Haridwar Elmas who picked stylish batter Kunal Chandela, Nainital Tigers who went with fellow batter Bhupen Lalwani, Pithoragarh Hurricanes opting for former Rajasthan Royals batter Prashant Chopra, and Rishikesh Falcons going for ace spinner Jagadeesha Suchith. Akash Madhwal, who has represented Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals in the IPL was picked up by Tehri Titans, while USN Indians went with swashbuckling batter Avneesh Sudha who registered the highest score in Season 1.

Continuing the tradition of balancing experience with emerging talent, the draft featured inclusion of both seasoned cricketers and promising newcomers, with each team drafting from a diverse pool of players from the remaining categories. The roster building took place over 18 rounds, culminating in strong squads which will aim to lift the Uttarakhand Premier League crown in Season 2.
