match report

~ In the third fixture of the Women’s UPL 2025, Tehri Queens outclassed Pithoragarh Hurricanes with a commanding performance ~

Dehradun, 24 September 2025: A stunning bowling display by Tehri Queens saw Pithoragarh Hurricanes lose their second match of Women's Uttarakhand Premier League by seven wickets. The Tehri Queens sat atop the league table with four points from their opening two games.

Batting first, the Pithoragarh Hurricanes were restricted to just 68 runs in their allotted 20 overs. Manisha Kumar (18 off 26) and Ananya Mehra (20 off 24) provided a steady start, but the Tehri Queens' bowlers soon took control and restricted the Hurricanes to a meagre total.

Sabhya, who starred with 3 for 10, delivered a crucial spell and dismissed the openers. Kanika Negi then took charge with a brilliant display of bowling that derailed the Hurricanes' attempt to rebuild their innings. Negi finished with impressive figures of 4 for 13.

However, the chase of 69 was not straightforward for the Tehri Queens, thanks to disciplined bowling from the Pithoragarh Hurricanes early on. Their bowlers struck early, removing three top-order batters but despite the setbacks, Ankita Bisht led the charge, guiding the Queens to victory with a composed 31* off 26 balls, which included four boundaries.

The Queens completed the chase in 12.4 overs.

The Player of the Match award was presented by Dr Sonia Anand Rawat (Uttarakhand Ratna, Sarega Fame, Director of Goonj Society) to Kanika Negi for her brilliant performance.

Next up, Haridwar Storm will take on Mussoorie Thunders, with both teams aiming to secure their first points in the Women's Uttarakhand Premier League 2025.
