Dehradun, 30 September 2025: Tuesday's triple-header climaxed in spectacular fashion as the Falcons completed a record chase off the final delivery in a run-laden thriller.
Batting first, the USN Indians delivered a comprehensive batting performance, posting an imposing 230/4, the second highest team total in the history of the tournament.
The innings was headlined by a breathtaking century from Vishal Kashyap, who not only reached three figures but also registered the second-fastest fifty in UPL history along the way. His scintillating 116 off 59 balls, laced with 11 fours and eight towering sixes, was a masterclass in strokeplay and responsibility, driving his side to a commanding total.
Kashyap received valuable support from Sachin Bhati, the No.3, who contributed a well-constructed 56 off 39. Bhati's innings provided the ideal balance between aggression and consolidation, ensuring sustained momentum throughout the middle phase.
Following the dismissal of skipper and opener Avneesh Sudha for a rapid 27 off 13 balls, Vishal Kashyap and Sachin Bhati steadied the innings, propelling their side to 88/1 by the end of the 6th over, marking the highest-ever Powerplay total in the tournament.
Prateek Pandey provided late impetus with a sharp unbeaten cameo of 16* off just 6 balls, lifting the scoring rate in the closing stages.
In the bowling department, Jagmohan Nagarkoti was the Falcons' most successful bowler, claiming three wickets, though at a high cost, conceding 58 runs in his four overs.
Staring down a daunting target of 231, the Rishikesh Falcons needed something special. Their openers gave them hope, putting together a solid 48-run partnership but the dismissal of Abhyuday Bhatnagar for 10 threatened to derail their momentum.
However, his partner Allen Chetan refused to let the pressure get to him. While his partner walked back to the pavilion, Chetan kept his foot on the accelerator, finding much-needed boundaries with confidence.
At the other end, Poorvansh Dhruv settled into the perfect supporting role, content to rotate the strike and hold one end together while his partner took the game to the opposition.
Chetan continued his onslaught, racing to a century off just 44 balls, the fastest ever in UPL, while Dhruv, too, shifted gears, reaching his fifty in the very same over.
The chase looked firmly on track, with the duo propelling their side to 188/1 by the end of the 15th over. However, in the very next over, Rahul Devnath struck, breaking the partnership by dismissing Dhruv, who had produced a blazing 74 off just 39 balls.
In his next over, Devnath struck again to claim the prized scalp of Chetan, who played a match-defining knock of 116 from 54, studded with seven fours and 10 sixes.
The match took a dramatic turn when Jaskaran Singh was run out at the start of the 20th over. But Akhil Singh Rawat held his nerves, steering his side to a thrilling last-ball victory.
This match served as a prime example of the high calibre of players on display in the UPL, a testament to the scouts' expertise, many of whom bring extensive experience from IPL franchises such as RCB, MI, KKR, and RR.
