Dehradun, 1 October 2025: In the morning clash of another triple-header day at the UPL, Piyush Joshi produced a match-winning century as Pithoragarh Hurricanes successfully chased down 203 against Tehri Titans by eight wickets in a spectacular display of batting prowess.

Match 1: Pithoragarh Hurricanes vs Tehri Titans

After electing to bowl, Pithoragarh watched Tehri Titans compile a formidable 202/4. Aryan Sharma's explosive unbeaten 83 off just 32 balls provided the late fireworks, striking ten towering sixes at an astonishing strike rate of 259. Opener Ishagra Jagoori's composed 51 laid the foundation, whilst Karn Veer Kaushal's 27 maintained momentum through the middle overs. The Titans' total appeared daunting, particularly given Sharma's devastating assault in the death overs.

The chase, however, belonged entirely to Pithoragarh's openers. Piyush Joshi orchestrated a magnificent run-chase with an unbeaten 106 off 61 deliveries, an innings of sublime timing and calculated aggression featuring eleven boundaries and four sixes. His opening partner Rohit Danu proved the perfect match, smashing a blistering 83 from 51 with six fours and as many sixes. Their partnership of 186 runs, the highest-ever in a chase, virtually settled the contest, rendering Tehri's bowlers helpless as the required rate remained comfortably within reach.

Jagdish Koshyari eventually broke through to dismiss Danu, but by then the damage had been inflicted. Captain Anay Chhetri remained unbeaten alongside Joshi as Hurricanes romped home on the very last ball.

The comprehensive victory keeps Pithoragarh's campaign alive, providing the crucial win they had been seeking.

Match 2: USN Indians vs Haridwar Elmas

In the next encounter, with their tournament survival on the line, the USN Indians compiled 158/8 after being sent in to bat by Haridwar Elmas. The innings got off to a shaky start as they lost four wickets inside the Powerplay, including the big wicket of Vishal Kashyap, who smashed a century in his last outing.

Later, Ashar Khan, the No.6 batter, steadied the ship with a composed 50* off 38 balls, finding boundaries when needed. Binay Rawat's punchy 24 off 17 gave the innings late impetus before he fell in the last over. A flurry of late wickets kept Haridwar on top, but the Indians managed to scrape past 150.

For Haridwar, Siddharth Gupta was the pick of the bowlers with impressive returns of 3/29, while Sumit Juyal chipped in with two crucial wickets to keep the pressure on throughout.

Chasing 159, Haridwar captain Kunal Chandela maintained his exceptional form with another substantial innings, further cementing his position as the tournament's leading run-scorer (397 runs) this season as he approaches the 400-run milestone with an average of 132.33.

The captain compiled another century, his second of the season, following his earlier innings of 126 against Pithoragarh, which stands as the highest individual score this season.

Kunal Chandela played a brilliant, match-winning innings, remaining unbeaten on 101 off 54 balls, including four fours and eight sixes. His opening partner, Daksh Awana, added a composed 41 from 43 balls. Together, they guided their side through the chase with authority, leaving the USN Indians bowlers struggling, as Elmas secured a commanding ten-wicket victory.

This emphatic victory propelled the Elmas to the top of the points table with six points and a superior net run rate, while simultaneously extinguishing the USN Indians' tournament aspirations, with four matches played and no victories, they are effectively eliminated from contention for a place in the final.
