Uttarakhand Premier League Season 3 is Coming Soon

After two seasons of competitive cricket, emerging talent, and memorable moments, the Uttarakhand Premier League (UPL) is now gearing up for its third season.

The league has grown significantly since its inaugural edition in 2024. Season 1 featured five men’s and three women’s teams, before expanding to seven men’s and four women’s teams in Season 2, giving a larger pool of cricketers from across the state the opportunity to compete on a professional T20 platform.

The first two seasons have also produced different champions in the men’s competition. USN Indians lifted the inaugural men’s title in 2024, while Haridwar Spring Elmas emerged champions in Season 2. Mussoorie Thunders won the inaugural women’s competition, with Season 2 introducing two new women's teams, Tehri Queens and Haridwar Storm, further expanding the platform for women cricketers in the state.

But perhaps the best measure of the UPL's growth is the players it has helped put in the spotlight.

Kunal Chandela's stellar Season 2 campaign was one of the standout stories of the tournament. Leading Haridwar Spring Elmas to the title, Chandela scored 455 runs in seven innings, including two centuries, and was named both Best Batter and Player of the Tournament.

Chandela's season is exactly the kind of story the UPL wants to create. A strong performance on the UPL stage gives players from Uttarakhand the opportunity to compete in a high-quality environment, attract attention, and take the next step in their careers.

And it isn't just about one player. Across the first two seasons, the league has continued to bring established names and emerging cricketers together, creating a competitive environment where the next generation of Uttarakhand talent can test itself.

Beyond cricket, UPL has also developed into a celebration of the state's sporting and cultural identity. The Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Dehradun has become the home of the league, with cricket complemented by live entertainment, music, and cultural performances. Season 2 featured 30 matches across the men's and women's competitions, making it one of the state's biggest sporting events.

Two seasons have shown what is possible. Season 3 is about taking it further.
